You can do it, we can help!!

Just want to let you all know where I'm at in regards to Family Ministry here at Zion.

For far to long the church has been accountable for the outcome of how your child's spiritual growth. I want to make sure everyone knows that the primary place for advancing the child's spiritual walk is not in church but in the HOME!! The church has about 30 hours the whole year to invest in your child and the parents have around 300 hours. It's mandated by God that the parents are to be the driving spiritual force. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)

I also feel that God has given Zion a mandate and that is to help and equip the parents in their role. In every area of ministry that your child attends it should be able to help you in the task of training them up in the way's of God. Zion should and will be in the ongoing years the partnering community for your home. We want you to do it but we also want to help!!

Here are the 5 Pillars of Zion's Family Ministry...
1. Jesus is Lord
2. Dad is the family shepherd
3. Marriage is the sacred covenant
4. Home is the training ground
5. Church is the partnering community

My goal for this blog is to not help you keep up with me and my rants, but to give you much needed help in accomplishing the mandate of God. I will be putting books, articles, links and what ever else I can post to be the parnter you need. Please tell other families about this and let me know what kinds of help you need.
